Electrolytic manganese production is a crucial process that effectively separates and refines manganese from other metals. Manganese is a silvery-white, hard, brittle, and durable metal that is highly reactive with oxygen.
During the electrolytic process, the manganese ions in the electrolyte solution are reduced to metallic manganese at the cathode using a direct current. The electrolyte solution contains manganese sulfate and sulfuric acid. The manganese deposition process is carried out at a current density of 5-10 amps/square foot, a temperature range of 30-60 degree , and a pH of 2.5 to 3.5. This results in the formation of metallic manganese crystals on the cathode surface.
