SiC 98.5 Silicon Carbide Grit Abrasives And Refractory
Silicon Carbide Grit is the hardest blasting media available. This high-quality product is manufactured as a hard, blocky, angular grain shape.
Opis
Description
In general, silicon carbide grit is used in the abrasive wheel, slurry, refractory, and ceramic industries. Silicon Carbide is unique in the way it degrades. The media will reveal new, sharp edges as it degrades into smaller particles. As a result, black silicon carbide is best used repeatedly, such as in a rock tumbler. Simply keep adding coarser grit, and as the media degrades, it will create a "working blend" of various particle sizes. This enables effective surface cleaning and polishing. SiC is harder than aluminum oxide but softer than brown fused AO.
Silicon Carbide is extremely hard. Diamonds and boron carbide are the only two commonly used abrasive materials that are harder than SiC. It is widely used for grinding nonferrous materials, finishing tough and hard materials, and filling ceramic parts due to its much lower cost than diamond or B4C. As a result, it is ideal for rock tumbling, sandpaper, sand blasting machine, vitrified and resinoid grinding wheels, lapping, compounds, non-slip (anti-skid), wire sawing silicon and quartz, polishing, and tumbling.
